Sydney Harbour

Sydney Harbour is an iconic and valuable part of the NSW marine estate.

In 2013 the harbour was recognised as Australia's 16th national landscape. Australia's National Landscapes program recognises places of great cultural, natural and spiritual significance including World Heritage-listed sites.

MEMA has initiated a Sydney Harbour project which includes establishing the Sydney Harbour Strategic Initiatives Network. The purpose of the network is to promote and facilitate information sharing and collaboration to support coordinated management of this special place.

The findings from these projects will inform future MEMA activities in Sydney Harbour.

What about community and stakeholder engagement?

The Authority will look for ways to involve and engage the community as work progresses.
