The Sea Country virtual school excursion enables primary school students to explore Aboriginal culture on the NSW south coast without leaving the classroom.

A new online school resource that enables primary school students to explore Aboriginal Sea Country culture without leaving their classroom was launched during NAIDOC Week 2020.

The Sea Country virtual school excursion includes videos and other online resources that help primary school students in years 4 to 6 learn about Aboriginal culture on the NSW south coast.

A series of seven topics provide information about how Aboriginal people have lived and cared for Sea Country for thousands of years on the NSW south coast.

Each of the seven videos include local Aboriginal educators who share knowledge and stories about their culture.

The project was a collaborative partnership between the NSW Government’s Marine Estate Management Strategy, Australian Government’s Parks Australia and NSW Aboriginal south coast clan groups.

To see the videos, visit the Sea Country virtual school excursion.
