An art project has been launched to help raise community awareness about the endangered Sydney Seahorse and support conservation efforts of marine science researchers.

The Sydney Seahorse Art Project includes an art activity kit packed with facts about the Sydney Seahorse, marine conservation and fun drawing activities for preschool and primary school aged children.

The project was made possible through a partnership between North Sydney Council, Sydney Institute of Marine Science, the Coal Loader, Stanton Library, SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, NSW Department of Primary Industries, University of New South Wales and the University of Technology Sydney.

North Sydney Council invited children to share their drawings to become part of an underwater animation that will be on exhibition in May 2022.
