North coast smarter irrigation drive

Berry and vegetable growers on the North Coast have a unique opportunity to get a free irrigation performance assessment to help improve efficiency and protect water quality in the NSW marine estate.

North Coast Local Land Services (LLS) is offering the assessments as part of the Marine Estate Management Strategy’s Clean Coastal Catchments On-Ground Works program.

The LLS team will help growers identify practical ways to reduce nutrient and sediment losses from their individual farms and they’ll also provide tailored technical support.

Expressions of interest close on 23 February 2025. The assessments will take place between March and May 2025. Priority will be given to growers in coastal draining catchments, particularly around the Coffs Harbour region.

Applicants must be commercial producers in the North Coast Local Land Services area. They also need to be willing to take part in industry case studies to share knowledge on smarter irrigation, erosion control, and nutrient and drainage management.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) close on 23 February 2025.

Submit your EOI via the North Coast Local Land Services website.
