Talking tidal vegetation at #ASMN2022

Experts from across Australia and the globe converged on Ballina this week at the Australian Mangrove and Saltmarsh Network Conference (AMSN2022) to discuss how to better manage our tidal vegetation.

Australian Mangrove and Saltmarsh Network Conference brings together researchers, coastal managers, industry representatives and members of community groups who work across mangrove and saltmarsh landscapes to share their knowledge and help plan for the future.

As well as providing habitat for estuarine wildlife, mangroves and saltmarshes boost fish numbers, protect foreshores from erosion and are efficient carbon sinks.

For these reasons, it is vital that we work together to preserve and restore these precious coastal vegetation types.

Here is some of our (MEMS funded) research that was presented at AMSN 2022:
