Review of the NSW Water Quality Objectives
Published 8 September 2023
Reviewing the NSW Water Quality Objectives so they support current community values.

Overview
The NSW Water Quality Objectives guide decisions about managing the state’s waterways, and are available for all main catchment areas in NSW.
The NSW Water Quality Objectives are long term goals based on the benefits of healthy waterways now and into the future. They outline:
- the things people enjoy about their local waterways
- what they want to achieve for their waterways
This action will look at the Water Quality Objectives across all coastal catchments in NSW to ensure they reflect current community values and uses of waterways.
