Eighty people, mostly from NSW Local Governments, joined our webinar on Initiative 1a: Improving water quality and reducing litter on 5 February 2024.

During the webinar, our project officers gave updates on current projects funded by the Marine Estate Management Strategy and shared future plans.

The presentations covered various projects, including:

* Clean Coastal Catchments monitoring

* Land use pressures and State-wide estuary monitoring

* Review of State-wide estuary monitoring

* Mapping coastal outflows

* Diffuse Source Water Pollution Oversight Committee

If you missed the webinar, recordings are available for viewing watch the webinar here.  Additionally, there's a separate 10-minute recording focusing on marine debris research, another Initiative 1(a) project, available here.

We also recommend catching up on other MEMS webinars from last year: Initiative 2, Delivering healthy coastal habitats with sustainable use and development, Initiative 3, Planning for climate change and Initiative 1b, Water quality and litter.

Thanks to our keen attendees and fantastic presenters from NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).
